(joint with DGHI) "Maximizing the Effectiveness and Efficiency of HIV and STI Interventions" Garnett is Professor of Microparasite Epidemiology at Imperial College London. His main area of research is the epidemiology and control of sexually transmitted infections. His recent work has focused on the potential impact of HPV vaccines, the epidemiological consequences of antiretroviral treatments and the evaluation of HIV Prevention programs. As Chair of the UNAIDS Reference Group on Estimates, Models and Projections, Professor Garnett played a part in developing the methods used in HIV surveillance globally.
