Research

The majority of DuPRI's members and affiliates are directly involved in population, demographic or related research – mostly through funded research projects or through graduate or post doctoral fellowships.

The Research Areas that interest DuPRI's members are very varied and here the attempt is made to capture the scope by categorizing research into two broad areas: Health & Human Development and Aging.

Research Tools

Key DuPRI research tools include data sources such as censuses, birth and death records, and satellite images; longitudinal studies, mathematical modeling, statistical analyses, the use of animal and plant models, biomarker studies, genetic information, and more.

Funding
External funding –mainly from the NIH and NSF– for DuPRI projects (such projects are defined as those having a DuPRI faculty member as Program Director or Principal Investigator or those having a DuPRI researcher as an Investigator) totals more than $18,000,000 each year.
